What is a Lightworker?: The Real Job of a Lightworker

lightworker, lightworker gifts, lightworker jobs

Most of us in the conscious and awakened spiritual community have heard of the term Lightworker more times than we can count. Many of us consider ourselves lightworkers or perhaps possess the gifts of one. But do we truly understand what it means to be a lightworker – what the purpose and mission of a lightworker are on an everyday scale? Lightwork is not just a once a month activity we do. If we are to really transform our world, then we must be spreading this light everywhere we go.

What is a Lightworker?

A lightworker (or lightwarrior as they are also known) is a person that made an agreement with the Higher Forces of Light before they were born to fulfill a certain mission that would in some way help to bring the planet to a new level of consciousness. In essence, this mission would be to spread light by the various gifts and talents that come naturally to them.

Make no mistake about it, a lightworker is someone who embodies their most authentic and divine self. They are a channel for high vibrational and loving energies which they ground into this physical world by doing whatever brings them their highest joy. They transform and transmute energy and help to anchor the Divine in this reality. And the most wonderful thing about being a lightworker is that anyone has the potential to be one so long as they seek to do good in the world and maintain loving intentions.

My Experience as a Lightworker

I have been doing lightwork for a number of years now and I am constantly seeking ways of strengthening my gifts and finding new ways of grounding light on Earth. However, despite doing this for so long, only recently it suddenly dawned upon me the real importance of this work.

Recently I went into an area that is particularly in need of light. This part of London is flooded with factories and is, in my eyes, over-industrialised. It is littered with grey buildings and has, in general, a depressed and lifeless feel to it. I realised how badly this place needed the light and some heavy-duty lightwork. Not only that, I realised that as a lightworker I had the power to help heal and transform the energies that currently permeate this area. Wow! How powerful is that?

I suddenly understood that lightwork was not something to do on the odd occasion but something we must be doing every single day. That we must incorporate it into our daily lives and that our presence here on earth must reflect that very divinity which we wish to anchor on Earth. We must always be grounding light and spreading love, for these small ripples of light that we send out into the world have unimaginable potential.

The power that lightwork has is incredible. When light is anchored in an area it slowly spreads to the surrounding areas upgrading and transforming the very reality that we exist in. When I think of this, I like to create a visual in my mind of exactly how this might work. I imagine the light coming down to Earth being directed through a lightworker and spreading outwards, healing and restoring everything that it touches.

6 Signs You Are a Lightworker

Signs That You Are a Lightworker

I also realised that lightwork was not just limited to specifically directing energy through our bodies. There were a number of things a person could do that that made them a lightworker. You may not even be conscious that you are doing this type of work, you may just possess a real positive presence and spreading light comes completely natural to you.

For example, many lightworkers are:

  • Dancers
  • Chefs
  • Writers
  • Artists
  • Actors
  • Charity workers
  • Musicians
  • Midwives
  • Holistic Practitioners or Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Mothers and Fathers
  • Emergency Service workers
  • Activists

Or you could regularly work with energy and be a:

  • Healer
  • Medium
  • Psychic
  • Channeller
  • Spiritual Life Coach
  • Grid Worker
  • Facilitator of Spiritual Events
  • Shaman

The list truly goes on and on. There is no end to the jobs that lightworkers do. You can do a job that you would think wouldn’t even put you into the category of being a lightworker or you could be someone who actively works with energy on a daily basis. All that really matters is that you live your existence from a place of love for those around you and in some small way try to make the world a more beautiful and peaceful place. And if you wish to build on those lightworker skills and consciously do energy work, then that just adds to the wonderful work you are doing by blessing the world with your loving intentions.

The important thing to remember is that the starting point is the attitude with which you live your life. When you are going about your daily life, try and imagine that with each footstep you tread, light is dispersing into the earth. This light is transforming all that is around you – touching those that you pass in the street or exchange a brief conversation with. It is reaching out to the buildings, trees, and even lamposts, embedding itself in the very structure of our reality. This is the miracle of lightwork. It spreads like ripples in a pond and if practiced in unity with each other, will help to bring this world to its true divine potential.

    1. Hi Pooja, I think it is important to remember that our angels are always with us and ready for us to connect with them at any time. Have you downloaded my angel cheat sheet? There are some fantastic ideas for communicating with them there. Try and speak to them out loud and see if you can feel their presence with you. It is subtle but try and tune in to it and see if you can feel their loving energy. Hope that helps!
